Your time.
Your talents.
Our shared future.

Help the National Alumni Association of Arkansas Baptist College reconnect alumni, strengthen its systems, and expand support for the College. Alumni, former students, friends, and community professionals are welcome.

We are seeking unpaid volunteers. We are not hiring for these opportunities. Offer a few hours, help with one event, or donate a specific skill. You do not have to make a financial gift to volunteer.

Why this legacy matters

Your service carries a larger story forward.

The 1884 founding of Arkansas Baptist College joined education and African American ministry. Helping locate classmates, welcoming alumni, and offering your skills can bring more people into the continuing work of faith, learning, and community service.

Start with a connection

Help us find our people.

Our immediate priority is reconnecting alumni across generations. Invite classmates and former students to visit this website, learn what is happening, and choose how they want to participate.

Campus photographs represent HBCU community life and volunteer themes; the people pictured are not identified as NAA / ABC volunteers.

Reconnect alumni

Help locate former students through public sources and personal networks. Invite them to visit the website, update their own information, and get involved. Ask permission before sharing anyone’s contact details.

Help organize permission-based alumni records, improve website content, or document simple office processes using Association-approved tools and access.

A clear understanding

Service offered freely.

These opportunities support the Association’s charitable and educational mission. Assignments are subject to leadership approval and available support.

  • Participation is freely chosen. You may decline a task or stop volunteering at any time.
  • These roles carry no wages, salary, commissions, stipend, employee benefits, or promise of a paid position. There is no expectation of compensation.
  • Choose an occasional, part-time, or project-based commitment with the office. There are no mandatory employment-style shifts or outreach quotas.
  • Volunteers supplement the Association’s work and must not displace paid employees. Anyone already employed by the Association must have a separate role review and may not volunteer the same or similar services they are paid to perform.
  • Do not incur costs on the Association’s behalf without written approval. Expense reimbursement is not promised; any approved reimbursement must follow a documented policy and receipts.
  • Professional service donations require an agreed scope, appropriate credentials where required, confidentiality terms, and leadership approval before work begins.

A volunteer label or acknowledgment does not waive wage rights or determine legal status. The actual arrangement must qualify under applicable law, including the law where remote service is performed.

Respect every connection

Invite. Protect. Follow through.

Use approved messages and identify yourself as an NAA / ABC volunteer. Honor requests to stop contact. Do not buy or scrape contact lists, send bulk messages, use automated calls or texts, or collect sensitive information without an approved process.

Keep alumni records in approved Association systems. Do not publish, sell, or use contact details for personal business. Let alumni provide or confirm their own information whenever possible.

Direct donations to approved Association giving channels. Do not collect gifts through personal payment accounts, promise tax deductions, sign agreements, or speak on behalf of the College. Fundraising campaigns require leadership approval and review of applicable solicitation rules.

Before service begins, the office will confirm the task, point of contact, access permissions, and any role-specific orientation or screening. Work involving minors or vulnerable people requires separate safeguards and approval.

Raise your hand

Let’s find your way to help.

Send a brief expression of interest to the Association office. This is a volunteer inquiry, not a job application. No résumé or sensitive documents are required.

Include your name, city and state, preferred contact method, interests or skills, and availability. Tell us whether you prefer remote work, an event, or a defined project. Please do not send someone else’s private contact details.

Contact details are being confirmed.

Suggested subject: NAA / ABC Volunteer Interest

By expressing interest, you are asking the office to contact you about volunteering. No assignment or access to records is granted until approved. The office will confirm the voluntary, unpaid scope before service begins.

Volunteer framework

Built around responsible service.

Our volunteer approach follows Arkansas’s nonprofit volunteer provisions and U.S. Department of Labor guidance. Each assignment must be reviewed in practice; this page does not certify a role’s legal classification.

Help the connection grow

Reconnect. Then invite a classmate.

After sending your reconnection email to the office, help someone else find their way back. Share through your own social accounts, email, or messages. NAA / ABC does not need a social media page for you to invite your network.

Only the public invitation and reconnection link are shared. Your form entries, membership status, and contact details are never included. Nothing posts automatically; you choose the recipient or audience.

Share the public invitation link with classmates and friends. Review your message before sending.
