College statements / Association questions / Public records
Read the explanation. Understand the questions.
A public statement explains what its author says. A contract establishes agreed terms. An Association position explains what alumni leadership supports, opposes, or wants answered. Read each in its proper context.

Additional housing through an existing property
Moses Tucker Partners announced that 617 Broadway LLC, an entity led by Chris Moses, purchased the hotel and entered a long-term housing partnership with Arkansas Baptist College. The announcement describes adapting the 261-room property for student living and related uses, rather than constructing new housing.
The announcement identifies the property company as the buyer. It does not establish that the College purchased the hotel or disclose the complete executed lease terms.
Arkansas Money & Politics attributes to Board Chairman Roland Gosey the view that the downtown location would provide additional housing and classroom space to support growth. This is the College leadership rationale as reported in that article.
The stated educational purpose and the financial affordability of the agreement are separate questions. The Association asks for the underlying records needed to evaluate the commitment.
An executed agreement still requires accountable stewardship.
Association leadership has confirmed that the agreement has already been signed. The Association opposes the arrangement as described to it and remains concerned about the handling of the decision, long-term affordability, student needs, and unanswered questions.
We seek the executed lease and amendments, full payment schedule, duration and termination provisions, funding sources, maintenance and safety responsibilities, transportation arrangements, and operating and capital-improvement budgets. Public explanations alone do not answer those questions.

Association positions:Where We Stand sets out leadership’s concerns and requests.
Records still needed: executed agreement and amendments, source financial records, the reported financial-exigency declaration and explanatory document, and the original newspaper article or exact link.
Private project files, student reports, and confidential records are not posted in this public register. A source appearing here does not mean the Association endorses every statement it contains.
